I'm Dan Hummert, a proud graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, lifelong outdoorsman, coffee lover, and passionate guide for individuals seeking to build a retirement plan that aligns with their lives and their legacy.

Before I ever built a financial plan, I was laying foundations, literally. Early in my career, I built a thriving construction business, followed by a successful online tech firm back when most people still thought "Google" was just a search bar.

Those entrepreneurial experiences taught me two lasting lessons:

• People value clarity, reliability, and relationships above all.
  
• The best plans, whether for a building, a business, or a financial future, start with a solid blueprint.

But perhaps my most powerful education came from personal experience. Watching my father navigate the generational transition of our family business, the A.H. Hummert Seed Company, without proper preparation, was painful. Seeing loved ones forced to make complex decisions after his passing, decisions that could have been made with thoughtful intention and less emotional distress, ignited a fire in me. So I set out to help others avoid the same hardship.

Financial planning became a way to blend everything I’d learned as a builder, a business owner, and a son into a life of service. Today, at Hummert Financial, I offer guidance rooted in empathy, strategy, and a deep understanding that my clients’ financial journey is about far more than numbers.

Faith is central to who I am. As an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis, I've seen firsthand how generosity and stewardship can create lasting impact. Serving alongside individuals and families across generations has deepened my understanding that money isn't just about wealth — it's about values and purpose.

That belief shapes every plan I help build: aligning financial goals with personal convictions, encouraging generosity, and helping clients see their wealth not just as something to protect, but as something that can be used meaningfully.

At home, I'm blessed to share life with my wife Jill, founder of SmarterWellth, our spirited daughter, and our golden doodle. Together, we find joy in simple moments, outdoor adventures, and building a life that reflects our faith and values.
